This is for a scholarship. How does it sound??? Any Criticism??? Help?

My name is blank blank and I recently graduated from high school. My dream after high school was to always attend college, obtain a bachelors in history and go on to museum studies. Working for the Smithsonian is my dream career, but for me it seems as though I will have to travel down a path full of obstacles just to get to that point in my life. I believe that I will get there, because I have already accomplished a task many people in my family have never achieved; I graduated from high school. Now it is time for me to go somewhere no one in my family has ever gone; to college. I was accepted to The University of South Carolina-Aiken and it has become a hassle filling out scholarships and not receiving anything because of my SAT scores. Those scores has made it difficult for me to receive any financial aid and coming from a family of blue collar workers there is no way that I will be able to get much assistance from them. Most scholarship committees do not look at the fact that I graduated with honors, was in the top ten of my class, and most of all I volunteered as a tutor at many of the local elementary schools in my neighborhood. The money provided by this scholarship would aid me in paying off my tuition and lead me to my dream career as an museum curator. Thank You!
