Why do conservatives ignore the fact that universal healthcare works in so many other countries?

It's a human thing to only see what you want to see, and ignore anything that doesn't fit what you already believe to be true. Oddly enough, as in so many things, the Bible has an appropriate verse - which, of course, most "Christians" here in the US will not recognize, since most of them appear to have read little of the Bible beyond a few bits of the Old Testament. Try Jeremiah 5:21. (gotta love that Jeremiah; he knew what people were like)
